Jug Line Fishing

This weatherproof survival tip card contains the basic information for jug line fishing, which entails a large floating object (plastic bottle, pool float etc.) tied to a line with a weight at the end, and at least one hook (but more can be added) when a fish grabs the baited hook, the float sinks, and then pulls back up to the top of the water again, which helps set the hook. This also helps you to easily determine if the jug has a fish on it or not at a glance. You can also weight one end of the jug so that it lays horizontally on the water, and when a fish bites, and pulls the jug, the weight falls turning the jug vertical so you can tell even easier, if you have a fish on. This is a great passive way to collect food, since you can set several jugs and come back periodically to check them. 

Drinking Straw Fishing Lure and Jug Line Fishing

This weatherproof survival tip card contains the information needed to turn a common drinking straw, into a very effective shrimp lure. This technique works best with clear straws (but any will do) as you can put colored objects (paracord, moss, etc) inside the clear straw simulating the organs inside small shrimp and adding some color to the lure. trash like drinking straws can be easily found in many waterways, and coves, or on the banks of rivers, lakes, and streams, after storms.
