Magnesium Bar
A magnesium bar is a compact, reliable fire-starting tool designed to work in any weather. Each bar contains solid magnesium that can be shaved into fine shavings with a knife or scraper, creating an extremely flammable tinder source. To use it, simply scrape a small pile of magnesium (roughly pea size) shavings onto your fire site, then strike a spark from a ferro rod or a steel striker to ignite them. The shavings burn at over 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit, making them hot enough to light even damp tinder.
