Night is Best – Gigging frogs can be done during the day, or the night, however the night is best to gig frogs as it allows you to spot them with a light via the glow from their eyes.

Shine Your Light – When gigging frogs You spot frogs via the shine of their eyes, but you can also blind them that way so they can't see you as well. If you have a partner they can blind the frog while you stalk it from behind increasing your chances to successfully gig a frog. be careful not to let anything come between the beam of light and the frog as it can often spook them.
