Can Opener Micro Tool: Keychain Can Opener
Keychain Can Opener for Real EDC
A keychain can opener solves a simple but very real problem. You don’t usually plan to need one, and when you do, it’s almost never nearby.
This micro tool is built to live on a keychain, zipper pull, or inside a tiny kit so opening a can doesn’t become a problem when you’re camping, traveling, dealing with a power outage, or stuck with limited gear. It is for people who want practical readiness without bulk. It is not for someone looking to replace a full-size kitchen opener.

Why the Keychain Can Opener Micro Tool Exists
Most people assume opening a can is easy until they no longer have the right tool. This can opener exists to be a layer of readiness that stays with you when larger cooking gear is not available.
It is intentionally small, simple, and mechanical. No moving parts. No complicated technique. Just a reliable way to puncture and open cans using leverage instead of strength.

We know that when you reach for a tool in the field, it has to work the first time, every time. That’s why every micro multi tool we make is backed by Grim Workshop’s Lifetime Guarantee. If a tool ever breaks under normal use, we’ll replace it. Simple as that.
This guarantee isn’t just about confidence, it’s about trust. We’re a small, family-owned American company, and we stand behind every product that leaves our shop. Each Micro Tool represents years of experience designing EDC keychain tools that combine compactness with true function. However you carry it, you can count on it. When gear this small can make a big difference, it should be built to last a lifetime—and ours are.

How the Keychain Can Opener Micro Tool Fits Into a Kit
This tool works as a standalone solution on a keychain or zipper pull, but it really shines when used as part of a compact food or emergency kit.
You can:
Carry it solo as a keychain can opener
Store it inside a tin-based food kit
Pair it with other micro tools for cooking redundancy
When combined with a bottle opener, fire tools, or small cutting tools, it becomes part of a lightweight food access system that works whether you are at camp or stuck at home during an outage.
Complete Your Outdoor Cooking Kit
An outdoor cooking kit becomes a lot more capable when you add a few compact helpers. Flat tools let you flip food, stir meals, clean cookware, and prep ingredients without taking up extra space. These tools ride easily in a wallet, pouch, or Altoids tin so you can cook real meals in the wild without hauling a camp kitchen.

VerifiedLighter than the P38 and more useful than one in my opinion. It's nice that it doesn't flop open inadvertently, and will likely make it easier to sharpen. Too thin for prying anything small but you would likely want a bigger tool for that anyways. The blunt tip is great for cleaning underneath nails.

VerifiedLove everything about it except the 1mm width. Honestly, I haven’t tried it to know, but I wonder whether it will bend with use. I would pay twice the asking price for a 3mm version if you’re listening, Grim. By the way, I did not see any mention of a warranty on the site. I also bought the similar bottle opener and my thoughts are the same there. Thanks Grim, I appreciate your design and craftsmanship which is first rate.
I just sharted
VerifiedCan you make a heavy duty version of the P-38 were the hinge will not bend after long term use? This zipper can opener is a novel idea but it’s about 3 times harder to open a can than the P-38. Also, a little sheath would make it safer. I’ve made a sheath for mine with a large drinking straw.
