The Firefly fire starter is made from 1095 high carbon spring steel, blued for corrosion resistance and durability. The entire body of the tool functions as a striker, eliminating the need for separate scraping edges or moving parts.

The ferrocerium rod is a custom flat design, allowing it to sit securely against the tool body while still producing aggressive sparks with proper technique.

We don’t make disposable gear, and we never will. The Firefly Heat is designed to be the kind of tool you hand down, not throw away. The blued high-carbon steel striker will wear into its job, the blued steel will darken nito a deep grey over time. The ferro rod will last for thousands of strikes, and when it finally earns its retirement, you can replace your ferro rod yourself without tossing the whole tool.
