How to Use a Dog Tag Fishing Hook
This fishing hook dog tag gives you the hooks, while you choose the rest of the rig. Start with the type of fishing you plan to do:
- Select a removable hook that suits the bait, target fish, and fishing rules in your area.
- Choose suitable fishing line and tie the hook using a secure knot.
- Add bait, and use suitable weights or floats if your fishing method needs them.
- Check the hook point, knot, and line for wear before fishing.
- Clean and dry reusable hooks after use, then return intact pieces to the retention carrier.
A sharp hook can catch skin just as easily as fish. Keep the point clear of hands and clothing, and supervise young anglers.

The tag body uses 0.030 inch stainless steel, made by Bruce in the USA. Grim's reusable Tool Retention System holds the detachable hook pieces without magnets or sticky residue on the removed metal.
The carrier also has a separate peel and expose adhesive backing. That lets you attach the carrier to a suitable flat surface when a mounted kit is more useful than necklace carry.
You get a 24 inch aluminum ball chain for necklace carry, a 4.5 inch connector for compatible keyrings, and a silicone silencer. Keep points secured, inspect the chain, and avoid loose sharp pieces inside pockets.
