Gig Micro Tool: Micro Frog and Fish Gig Tool
A full size frog gig or fish gig takes room in a pack. The point alone is a different story.
The Grim Workshop Gig Micro Tool gives you a small stainless steel gig tool body about the size of a large paperclip. Keep it on a suitable keyring or gear loop with the included snap hook and reusable Tool Retention System.
It is a compact part for outdoor skills practice, not a finished fishing spear. You will need a suitable shaft, secure fastening, instruction, and a lawful place to use the completed setup.
Why Carry a Gig Micro Tool?
A finished frog or fish gig needs a long shaft. A tiny gig point takes much less space, which makes it easier to keep in a compact skills kit.
This stainless steel Micro Tool is about the size of a large paperclip. It can travel on a suitable keyring or in a small pouch until you have the other materials and knowledge to use it.
It is not a complete spear and will not do the job on its own. This little tool earns its place in your kit when you practice the skills that go with it.
What Comes With the Gig Micro Tool?
Grim Inventory verifies five standard parts for this product:
- One Bruce-made stainless steel metal Gig Micro Tool body.
- One 1 inch nickel plated steel snap hook for a suitable keyring or gear loop.
- One reusable Micro Tool Retention System for the removable metal piece.
- One information card.
- One protective cellophane sleeve.
The metal body is 0.030 inch thick, about 1 mm. Its metal tool body is made in the USA. The separate snap hook and packaging are not covered by that origin claim.
A spear shaft, cordage, mounting supplies, and a complete fishing spear are not included. Choose those parts separately.
Stainless Steel, Reusable Retention, and Carry
The metal tool body is Bruce-made stainless steel 0.030 inch thick. It uses Grim's Micro Tool Retention System, so a compatible removable metal piece can be lifted from the carrier and returned for storage.
The retention surface is nonmagnetic and does not leave sticky adhesive on the removed tool. The carrier also has a separate peel and expose adhesive backing that can stick to a suitable flat surface.
An included 1 inch nickel plated steel snap hook can attach to a compatible keyring or gear loop. Store the pointed part so it cannot snag clothing or poke skin. Clean and dry the metal after use.
